A steady space to feel more rooted in yourself

Somatic and attachment-based therapy for nervous system resourcing in Asheville, NC.

Intention

A gentle, body-centered approach to help support you in: feeling more at home in your body, establishing more connection with yourself and others, and cultivating more fluidity in your nervous system so you can return to center more easily, and stay present in your life and rooted in your values.

How it works: Moving Beyond Talk

You’ve likely noticed that knowing "why" you feel a certain way doesn't always stop your body from feeling tight, overwhelmed, or shut down in the moment.

Somatic therapy is about moving from your head into the actual felt experience of your life. Instead of just analyzing, we work together to help you:

  • Build the capacity to stay connected to yourself even during difficult emotions and experiences.

  • Notice the small "cues" your body gives you before you feel overwhelmed.

  • Find a sense of ease that feels real, not just thought-out.

At Your Own Pace: We don’t rush this. We pay close attention to what your body is telling us in real-time so we can move at a speed that feels safe for you. This "slow and steady" way of working helps you build a solid foundation, so you can leave our sessions feeling more rooted in the here-and-now.

The framework

Our early blueprints for how we connect and survive aren't created in a vacuum. They are shaped by our family experiences, stories, ancestral histories, and the systemic pressures we navigate daily. These patterns ultimately dictate how we move through the world—how we lean into or pull away from others, how we treat ourselves, and how we experience the very pulse of our lives.

I see this work as a way of offering companionship to the parts of us that had to build up layers of protection just to get through. By meeting those layers with safety and deep attunement, we can look at those old habits and show your body it’s finally safe to let them reorganize. This process allows you to move beyond survival, helping you feel more rooted, present, and free to engage with your life and community from a place of true center.

I’m Rebecca, a somatic therapist.

After over a decade in this field offering trauma-informed practices, I remain deeply committed to the quiet, honest work of safe accompaniment. My heart for this practice is shaped by my own life as a parent and my belief that we all deserve a space where we don't have to perform or ‘fix’ ourselves to be seen. I’m here to offer a steady, grounded presence as we work toward you ultimately feeling more resourced in every experience—from the times of quiet connection to the moments that feel most unpredictable and stressful.

I believe the body is the first place we can begin to reclaim our sense of agency, and I’m here to support you as you settle back into yourself.

What We Do in Session

Tools for building capacity and feeling more at home.

I use a range of specialized, nervous-system-based approaches:

  • Somatic Experiencing (SE)

  • Transforming Touch (TEB)

  • NeuroAffective Touch

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

  • Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP)

While the names of these modalities can sound clinical, they are simply different paths to help you feel more connected in body-mind and more rooted in the present.

I focus on safe accompaniment. I am not here to lead you to a destination; I am here to walk alongside you as you navigate the complexities of being alive right now.

If this integrated approach to building capacity and rootedness feels like the right fit for your nervous system, I’d be glad to hear from you.
